The five rounds

Questions are grouped the way they are asked in the contest. How the NSMQ works →

  1. Round 1

    Fundamentals

    Each school answers questions in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. A missed question can pass to the other schools as a bonus.

  2. Round 2

    Speed Race

    Applied questions thrown to all three schools at once; schools ring a bell to answer.

  3. Round 3

    Problem of the Day

    One 10-point problem, marked section by section against the consultant’s solution.

  4. Round 4

    True or False

    Statements to judge: 2 points for a correct answer, minus 1 for a wrong one, and you may decline.

  5. Round 5

    Riddles

    Clues read one at a time: 5 points on the first clue, 4 on the second, 3 after that.
